Bambinelli Blessing (SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15)
After the 8:30am Mass and again after the 11:00am Mass, Fr. Joe will bless "baby Jesuses" from your home nativity sets. This is a tradition that has been popularized by our recent popes and will be celebrated this Sunday in Rome by Pope Francis.
Children are encouraged to bring their Christ-child figurine from their nativity and after it is blessed, the figurine is "hidden" at home only to be "found" in the manger on Christmas Day (or during the Christmas Vigil). More information on this tradition is found by clicking here.
Grief and Loss Luncheon (TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17)
We will have Mass at 12:10pm on Tuesday (no 8:30am Mass) with a luncheon to follow for those who have been grieving or suffering through a loss. Suzanne Wilkin will be our featured speaker. Please invite someone you think would benefit from this pre-holiday special and come with them.
HottyToddy.com Mentions St. John's!:
The "Experience Oxford" guide references some of the top 10 things that are good about Oxford and we are #4! We rank just above "pecan pie" and below "tailgating". Not bad!
Thanks to Andy Neff for the nice mention!
